Drive My Car | Reason to win an Oscar | Pink Man

Best international feature film japanese road trip drama movie called drive my car. It is co-written and directed by ryusuke hamaguchi. The film stars Hidetoshi Nishijima, Reika Kirishima and Tôko Miura.

Why drive my car is a International feature film of this year

In the title role the film follows a stage actor and director who is happily married to his playwright wife. since i watched this movie a few days ago and i've taken the time to be able to think about this movie. This show is a slow heartwarming and drama-filled movie and It is focused on its characters and being so well written that it drives the story.

Positives

Let's just see my positives first and we're gonna start with the performances everybody in this movie and i mean everybody in this movie is simply fantastic. When you have an amazing screenplay like this that is able to flesh out all these characters and give these actors enough time to be able to showcase how good they are and feel like they're given a ton of freedom.
you're going to get an amazing movie and the performances here just prove that every character in this movie who affected the main character had some backstory and was well written has a twist and turns along the way.
The movie is able to understand his characters and its story. Especially with some heavy monologue scenes that were simply breathtaking.
But it also has this lightness to it by showing that these characters just can't be serious all the time and that the drama in their lives can't overcome them.

Directing and Cinematography were Top notch

Ryusuke Hamaguchi's direction in this movie is simply fantastic and it was awesome.
The camera work in this movie awesome. Because most of this movie is dialogue driven. When you have a great director like this that is able to craft so many wonderful and dramatic and emotional shots that just add everything to this movie.

Background Score

I was so amazed by it another aspect that i heavily appreciate about this movie is that there is no score to this movie there are a few moments where the score does play in a very light tone that it fit the scene so perfectly but i can't recall that the score was ever playing throughout this movie and i think it's because performances the writing and the dialogue are so good in this movie that you don't need the score to manipulate you to be able to feel those emotions.

Editing

This movie features some of the best editing i have seen . The scenes just transition so perfectly. it has a nice pace and flow to the movie.

Is there any negative in this film ?

Lot of people may think it is the runtime. It is almost 3 hours. Usually i love long time run movies. Do i didn't think running time is not a negative in this film. I think that some of the best movies were made really long time movies. But there are so many scenes that could have been trimmed down and it could have had a better pacing.
